A home open to all

Paulo Rocha, director of the Catholic agency Ecclesia, is certainly the Portuguese journalist who has followed the new Patriarch of Lisbon, D. Manuel Clemente, most closely over time. He has hundreds of hours of conversation and commentary with him on current affairs concerning the Church and the world. This alone would be enough to make this interview-book an essential document. But, in addition, the historical moment in which this work appears is particularly significant.
The former auxiliary bishop returns to Lisbon, after an important stay in Porto, but now as Patriarch and President of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference. It is understandable that there is great curiosity to know the fundamental lines of D. Manuel Clemente's thought and the programme he proposes. It is to this desire for knowledge that the present volume responds.

It contains an extensive core of interviews, in which the new Patriarch agrees to speak openly about all the major topics under debate and the expectations of this moment. It then presents a kind of A to Z "dictionary" with the fundamental entries of his thought. And it is complemented by a precious and original photographic repository.
