A piano in Sesimbra

A young unemployed woman one day receives a phone call with consequences that are somewhat difficult to fully comprehend. Another woman makes an unusual pact with herself, causing unexpected events around her. A man with a terminal illness is forced to finish a work about a Portuguese explorer and discovers that the sad nights of his city still have some surprises to offer him. A writer falls asleep on the train and finds himself in a remote, unknown village, where he spends a long and strange night. We can find these and other characters in a total of seven short stories, based in the city of Lisbon. These stories deal with existential themes such as language, death, and love, yet skillfully intertwined with common everyday situations.
