The master of ceremonies

Autumn in Japan. Around a table sits a group of men and women, all chosen for their intelligence, financial resources, and ability to forge an astonishing agreement that will unite, for the first time since the Second World War, Germany, Japan, and the Soviet Union.

But the plan is fraught with pitfalls: each participant is playing their own game, and at the centre of it all is a man whose moral compass will be deeply shaken by the events that follow, and whose feelings for the beautiful Marta Boyson will further complicate a strategy that, in itself, was never going to be simple.
