The main objective of this work is to provide a comprehensive view of the ageing process and the changes that occur therein, taking it as a period of losses but also gains, and recognizing that this process involves forces originating both from the individual and from the social contexts in which the person is inserted, as well as from the interaction between the two. As ageing is a far more complex condition than it appears at first glance, at least as complex as growth, this means that the responsibilities we have in the act of growing are the same as those we have in relation to the act of ageing. Therefore, this work seeks to make it clear that, from a psychological point of view, ageing is not necessarily an irremediable evil, an incomprehensible outcome at the end of a life made of learning, relationships and projects, but may constitute, like any other stage of human life, an opportunity for well-being and happiness.
