That Christmas Eve was marked by the discovery of a young woman's body in one of Central Park's many secluded spots. Kay Scarpetta, Patricia Cornwell's detective, had been called in to solve the case. A case that would ultimately involve one of America's most feared serial killers, with whom Scarpetta had already violently clashed. But this time, Scarpetta began receiving sinister computer messages indicating that she would be the cruel killer's next victim.
