Faced with a romantic impasse and a decaying family situation, Lara swaps the city of Porto for a temporary job at a holiday club in Brazil. On the island, she becomes inseparable from a group of friends of various nationalities with whom she explores the pleasures of sex and transgression and becomes involved in a local tragedy, occurring among the native women, which leads to a series of suicides. Meanwhile, her abandoned boyfriend from Porto arrives on the island with a delegation of journalists to investigate the enigma.
