This volume compiles the writings of Victor Cunha Rego: the texts gathered in the volume "Liberdade" (Freedom) which contains the essential part of his extensive collaboration in the Brazilian press (1958-73), the chronicles "Os Dias do Amanhã" (The Days of Tomorrow), published daily from 1991 in Diário de Notícias, and the intermediary period during which he played a considerable role in the conquest, sometimes by force, of effective freedom of the press, first as director of the nationalized Diário de Notícias and then as founder, inspirer, and director of A Tarde and, above all, Semanário, during eight decisive years, between the slow aftermath of the PREC, the second constitutional review of 1989, and the imminent entry into the EEC in 1992.
