Memories of Anne Frank

Anne Frank and her schoolmates were innocent, intelligent children, full of faith in the future. They studied at the Jewish Lyceum in Amsterdam, the place the Nazis chose to segregate Jewish children from the rest of the population. For the Jewish people, every day represented a challenge; for their children, only school maintained the illusion of normalcy, which each empty chair contradicted.
Anne Frank, whose diary would become one of the most important documents about the Holocaust, could not then imagine how sadly famous it would become. So that the world's memory never forgets her, six of her schoolmates came together and shared their touching memories. From Albert Gomes de Mesquita, who hid in ten different European cities, to Hannah Goslar, who felt the terror of the concentration camps but had a miraculous reunion with Anne Frank just days before her death, these are accounts of lost innocence but also of extraordinary courage and survival during the Holocaust.
