Prayer in the Life and Ministry of the Priest

The new configuration to Christ conferred by the sacrament of holy orders is a continuous call to seek integration between the conscious exercise of the mystery and prayer. This work explores the praying priest through the entrusted ministry and the way in which liturgical activity, his intimate life, and his existence are sent to receive the gift of a mystical identification. Enabled for a new worship rooted in God and polarized towards his people, the priest's very life experiences a unifying force. From a prayer understood as dynamism rather than as a task, according to an intuition of the Second Vatican Council and with a broad synthesis of the post-conciliar magisterium, this volume presents to the priest the specificity of his prayer as a servant of the People of God by the will of Christ.
