Justine - Literary Series

Justine, the first book in the tetralogy, focuses on the beautiful Jewish wife of Nessim, a powerful Coptic banker, narrating, from the perspective of a young aspiring writer, the encounters and misunderstandings of a group of friends who meet in the city of Alexandria in the period before World War II. Darley, the narrator, becomes involved with two women - the mysterious Justine and the fragile Melissa. From this complex relationship, a plot full of eroticism and subtleties is born.
