A report by Felícia Cabrita published last year in Expresso resurrected the sex scandal – known as ballet rose – which, about thirty years ago, shook the Estado Novo, involved important people, and served as a pretext for Mário Soares' exile to São Tomé and Príncipe. It ended with the acquittal of the "gentlemen" and the conviction of two prostitutes. Francisco Moita Flores adapted the story into "a handful of narrative pages," with the aim of creating a television series. These are (real) stories of "pedophilic, pederastic, and prostituted passions," of women forced to live in reverse, of "respectable-looking bigwigs full of vices," and of children taught to surpass professionals in the "science of voluptuousness," all written in Francisco Moita Flores' fluid style.
