Loving in the shade of palm trees

When a message in a bottle washes up on a German beach, everyone assumes it must be a joke. The message, written by a certain Werner Bäcker, claims that after a violent storm, he survived on a lost Pacific island. And he needs help.

But Werner's story is far from a joke. He lost his wife and three children in a raging sea, and although at first he only wished for death, the will to live prevailed. Clinging to life with every fiber of his being, and with only an albatross for company, Werner learns to live alone and to love his island.

However, fate has more surprises in store for him. When all hope of returning to the world of men disappears from his heart, survivors of a shipwreck appear – another man and a woman.
His new companions bring unsettling secrets to the island. Can Werner cope with the feelings that arise and that will once again change his life forever?
