Viana do Castelo: The Sá de Miranda theatre in the city's musico-cultural space (1885-1914)

The present study on the impact of the Sá de Miranda Theatre on the projection of musical culture in Viana do Castelo is the result of a master's thesis in Musical Sciences, submitted to the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra in the autumn of 1992. It holds the honour of being the first research work in Social Sciences to be assessed by a Portuguese University and defended there, thus inaugurating a series of other works with an identical purpose and a similar impact on Portuguese musical culture.
