Úrsula, the greatest

Maria João, 14, is the daughter of divorced parents (her father is a left-wing, middle-class man; her mother lives for her domestic dreams and is somewhat detached from reality). The book shows her relationship with her school friends and how she builds her own self, critically observing her parents' rules and values. Maria João also helps build the personality of another girl: Xuxu. The latter, daughter of an aristocrat friend of her mother, has to travel a long way to earn the right to her own name: Úrsula.
