Dangerous conspiracy

Mike McCreary is an unemployed oil engineer.
When he meets the mysterious Rubensohn, a powerful and unscrupulous businessman, one day, his destiny becomes a remote island in Indonesia where he is to prospect for oil.

It's well-paid work but with no right to ask questions. In a harsh environment, he meets Lisette, with whom he falls in love. Lisette is a Eurasian woman from Saigon, dark-haired and perfect like a doll, but Rubensohn keeps her as a concubine.

He ends up using her as a bargaining chip in a dark deal with the Sultan, which launches McCreary into an exciting chase and a race against time.
