The two partners in the law firm Finley & Figg often refer to their firm as a boutique: chic, selective, thriving. Obviously, it's none of that. What it actually is, is a two-person firm always on the lookout for the big case that will change everything. Their specialties, so to speak, are quick divorces and DUIs, occasionally with the jackpot of a real car accident. After twenty years together, Oscar Finley and Wally Figg look more like an old married couple. But then comes change. Or rather, it stumbles in. David Zinc, a young but already burned-out lawyer, abandons his fast-paced career at an elegant downtown firm, gets drunk, and literally ends up on the doorstep of our boutique firm. A little more sober and suddenly aware that he's unemployed, he agrees to work at Finley & Figg. Now with a new member, F&F is ready to take on a big case that could make them very rich without having to work hard. Krayoxx, a very popular drug for lowering cholesterol in obese patients and produced by a pharmaceutical giant, is under fire after several cases of heart attacks associated with the treatment. Wally can already smell the money. A quick internet search confirms Wally's suspicions: a large Florida firm is preparing a lawsuit against Varrick, the pharmaceutical company in question. The only thing Finley & Figg has to do is find half a dozen people who have had heart attacks while taking Krayoxx, convince them to become clients, and prepare for fame and fortune. With a bit of luck, they won't even have to go to court! It almost sounds too good to be true.
