The End of the Adventure

The romantic relationship between novelist Maurice Bendrix and Sarah Miles begins during the turbulent times of the London Blitz. But one day, without explanation, Sarah abruptly ends their affair. It seemed impossible that there could be a rival for Sarah's heart, but even so, two years later, driven by obsessive jealousy and pain, Bendrix hires a private detective, Parkis, to follow her and uncover the truth.

This absorbing and mysterious story of a love affair and its mystical end, masterfully told by Graham Greene, was adapted for the cinema by Neil Jordan, starring Ralph Fiennes, Julianne Moore, and Stephen Rea.
