Organizations, particularly businesses, are currently facing a constantly changing global environment that is increasingly complex, unstable, and unpredictable. Innovation, knowledge management, new skills, decentralization, autonomy, and collaboration are some of the terms associated with the characteristics of the new management style which, with increasing complexity, translates into new challenges for new managers, but also for teachers, students, and candidates for management positions.
Seeking to address this new reality, this new edition, in addition to updating or systematizing some of the topics covered in previous editions (with a focus on planning, motivation, and organizational structures), introduces a new chapter on management trends in the 21st century and the skills required of new managers.
Fundamentally, the aim is to contribute, albeit modestly, to better preparing those interested in achieving the best results in the growing, yet enticing, challenges posed by the new management.
