Anti-Bonsai

In each story, the central character identifies, in a way, with a particular tree that was an integral part of their life story and that is, in many cases, an alter-ego or a living reflection of that character. These are stories about the human condition — about men and women at particularly difficult moments in their lives: moments of change, indecision, anguish, inner conflict, the struggle to overcome adverse forces coming from outside and, above all, from inside memory. They are, if we can see them this way, tree-men and tree-women rooted in an ever-present past, but whose branches stretch — to the point of exhaustion and pain — to reach the blue.
