1000 Faces of God

"1000 Faces of God" is an art gallery in book form, which pays iconographic tribute to the interpretations that certain beliefs and religions have of God and divinity. This includes, for example, the religious representations found in Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Islam, Judaism, Paganism, or even among Native American Indians, in Greek, Scandinavian, and Roman mythology, to name just a few more prominent cases. The approximately 1000 works from all corners of the world allow us to simultaneously encounter tradition, art, and religion: let us note the oil paintings of the great classical masters, the monumental altars and triptychs, the meticulously embroidered tapestries, the detailed engravings, and even statues made of various materials, from stone and wood to jewel-studded bronze. If the designs of God are many, then undoubtedly, so too are His faces and manifestations.
